Winchester Pigs Stay in Town: Find Forever Home at Piggins and Banks

We give every effort to try and help all pigs across the country. In a perfect world, we would give all pigs everywhere a forever home. Since that is not possible, we make every effort to help all pigs close by…especially those who happen to be right down the road in need of saving.

Sam and Oscar were pet pigs of a local property tenant that from all appearances were well cared for. Aside from being overweight, they were fed correct food choices, neutered, and even had proper shelter and outdoor space. Sadly, when the tenant was evicted by their landlord, they moved out and left the pigs behind without any notice. We will never understand how some people can be so cold-hearted.

The landlords were now left with a property to clean up and two pigs in the backyard they had no idea what to do with. They reached out to us pleading to help find a home for Sam and Oscar. We did some brainstorming and figured out a way we could work them into the Piggins and Banks pig family! Needing a couple weeks to create a new pen and shelter, we gave the landlords instructions on how to care for the pigs.

With some very hard work we were able to get their new pen and shelter ready quicker than expected (and also thanks to a monetary donation by the landlords). A 25 minute drive down the road was all it took to meet Sam and Oscar in-person, load them into the trailer, and bring them to their forever home here.

After an initial adjustment period of getting used to their new place, Sam and Oscar are two super sweet pigs! They love to bury deep down in their straw hut at night and come strutting down their ramp in the morning for breakfast. We are so glad to welcome them to our forever pig family!

Help Support Sam and Oscar

We depend on the support of kind-hearted people to help ensure pigs like these pigs receive the best daily care possible! Please consider making a small donation or even sponsoring them as a virtual pig parent. All donations make a positive difference in the lives of our pig residents. Should you choose to sponsor any pig, you receive a welcome packet, some keepsakes, on-demand updates about him, and even a free ticket to one of our guided tours so you can meet them in person!
