Donate pumpkins for pigs in Virginia at Piggins and Banks Pig Sanctuary

What to do with old pumpkins in Virginia? Donate them to pigs!

Do you have leftover pumpkins and gourds sitting around from the holidays and have no idea what to do with them? Rather than throw them out or put them in a compost pile, why not consider donating them to our rescued pigs at Piggins and Banks!

If you live close by in Virginia / West Virginia / Maryland / Washington D.C., we accept drop-off donations of old pumpkins and still in-tact Jack-o-lanterns. Pumpkins are a “super food” for pigs full of nutritious vitamins that make for a wonderful healthy snack.

We are part of the Pumpkins for Pigs network which helps match local rescues and sanctuaries with people looking to donate pumpkins.

Have pumpkins and/or gourds to donate?

Pumpkin drop-off donations are accepted from October 1 through November 30 each year.

If you live close to our location which is in Cross Junction, VA (the very northwest tip of the state), you can drop them off anytime by our entrance gate. Remember, we take any pumpkin or gourd that is not painted. View our location on Google maps.

If you message us before or after you drop-off your pumpkins, we can take a photo and send it to you of our pigs enjoying your donation!
